Coronation Street star Jude Riordan dubbed ‘nations little star’ as he looks back on incredible year

He’s had an incredible year so it’s no wonder Jude Riordan is looking back on it with pride.

The Coronation Street youngster was dubbed the ”nations little star” after he shared a look back at 2021.

Jude is best known to viewers for starring in the ITV soap as Sam Blakeman, making his debut on the cobbles in 2019.

Sam’s appearance in Weatherfield was a shock to his dad Nick Tilsely after not knowing he had a son.

His ex Natasha Blakeman kept her pregnancy a secret until a chance meeting outside the hospital.

And this year, Jude’s character has had an even bigger role in the soap, particularly since “Super Soap Week” in October.

In a shock twist, Sam’s mum Natasha was shot by escaped drug lord Harvey Gaskell in a case of mistaken identity.

She later died in hospital from her injuries as Sam waited for his mum to return from surgery and after seeing his mum in the funeral home, the once plucky youngster has stayed silent.

Taking to his Instagram account, 10-year-old Jude shared a video showing off some of the snaps he’s shared throughout the year – from being on the Corrie cobbles to ones with his Brassic co-stars including Michelle Keegan.

“Goodbye to 2021. It’s been a weird one (AGAIN!) but it’s been very kind to me. I have had a blast,” Jude wrota alongside the clip.

“Thank you for following and supporting me.

“What will 2022 have planned? I’m excited to see. Happy New Year to all.”

It’s been a big year for the young actor after picking up his first major award.

Jude collected the newcomer gong at the National Television Awards back in September.

He was given his award by some of the stars of Love Island 2021 and he had viewers giggling when he had to be held up to the mic by host Joel Dommett.

Prior to that, he bagged Best Newcomer at the Inside Soap awards and last month he got a Pride of St Helen’s award.

Jude’s former on-screen mum Rachel Leskovac was among those commenting on his goodbye to 2021.

“Amazing. So proud to be a part of your year Jude,” she sweetly said.

@misspinkwhite commented: “You are a Superstar, Jude! Never change your sweet self.

“Wow what an amazing year you’ve had and it’s going to get better and better for you Jude,” @ carole.harmon shared.
