Corrie bad boy to make return as actor teases ‘unfinished business’

Coronation Street is set to see the return of bad boy Jacob Hay.

The character, played by Jack James Ryan, was last seen on the ITV soap in March.

The Manchester actor had not long joined the soap as part of a gang who were running drugs under the cover of food deliveries.

He befriended vulnerable Simon Barlow into the gang before Corrie viewers discovered that Jacob had been secretly ripping off their boss Harvey Gaskell, played by Will Mellor.

And viewers know what happened there with Simon’s mum Leanne becoming an informant for the police and helping put the drug lord behind bars.

He then returned last month with revenge in mind but after Leanne escaped his clutches, Harvey ended up shooting Natasha Blakeman who later died in hospital.

But according to the latest Corrie spoilers, Jacob is set to reappear as part of Kelly Neelan’s homelessness storyline.

Viewers will see Kelly become friends with Stu, who helped catch killer Corey earlier this month, as she struggles to readjust back to life in Weatherfield.

Stu trys to support Kelly

The troubled teen will start sleeping rough after being chased out of her supported living accommodation.

But as Kelly beds down in a doorway, a drug dealer approaches and offers her some free spice. Kelly refuses and he heads off leaving her terrified and alone.

When the dealer returns, Jacob sends them packing and when Stu appears, recognising Jacob, orders him to sling his hook.

Stu calls in the cafe and begs Nina Lucas to give Kelly a break, but Nina remains unforgiving.

But as Stu heads off, Kelly phones the dealer and orders some spice and he later finds her semi-conscious on a bench.

Kelly is left frightened on the streets

As Kelly stumbles along, she passes some drunk school kids who decide to follow her.

Just as the jeering, drunken gang of teenagers circle Kelly, Nina approaches but will she stick up for Kelly after what has happened?

Taking to Twitter, actor Jack shared the news and said: “JACOB HAY IS BACK!!! I can’t even begin to describe how chuffed I am to be back on those cobbles.

“There was so much unfinished business for Jacob so I can’t wait to tie up some of the loose ends. I’m beyond excited to see what you guys think!! @itvcorrie #corrie.”
