Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon has shared with fans what she’d have liked herself to have known as a child.
The actress was in a reflective mood ahead of the Christmas festivities and shared a sweet throwback snap to help share her words of wisdom.
Samia, who is best known for playing Maria Windass in the ITV soap, was seen in the image at seven years old in a pink frilly dress with her hair in plaited pigtails.
The soap star was sat on Santa’s lap for the adorable childhood photo – which was taken in the 80s.
“Merry Christmas from me in the 80s,” Samia, 39, shared with her Instagram followers. “If I could tell the 7 year old me anything about the future it would be…
“‘This too shall pass’. .. appreciate all the good that comes your way, know that the bad stuff won’t always stay around and try not to worry yourself sick about things that you can’t control! (I’m still working on that one tho).”
The Eccles-born actress added: “Thinking of anyone who finds Christmas difficult for whatever reason.. I hope you manage to have an ok day tomorrow, or if not, just have a day.
“Keep busy and find something to do (or eat ) that makes you smile.. also if you need someone to talk to get in touch with @samaritanscharity @mindcharity who are there to listen anytime.
“And for everyone who loves Christmas I hope it’s everything you wish it to be!”
And the post was quickly racked up with comments thanking Samia for the thoughtful words and plenty of Christmas wishes.
