Gemma Collins has said yes to a proposal from partner Rami Hawash – eight years after they first agreed to tie the knot.
The former The Only Way is Essex star has confirmed the news of her ‘re-engagement’ after reuniting with Rami during lockdown.
The pair previously began dating in 2011 and got engaged two years later.
But Gemma and Rami split in 2014 before Gemma entered an on-off relationship with her former co-star James ‘Arg’ Argent.
Gemma, 40, has been spotted sporting an engagement ring but hadn’t made an announcement on her relationship status.
But she has now confirmed the news she and Rami are set to wed.
Confirming their engagement to The Times, Gemma said: “I’d feel embarrassed now to drive a Range Rover. I have a Discovery, because I’m more muted, now …
“I was talking to my mum yesterday about getting married…”
She went on: “Yeah, but we can’t really come out and say anything yet because Ram was married before and his paperwork has not come through, so until that’s officially signed, we’ve not said anything.
“They’ve not been together for two years. I know her, she’s got a partner, she’s as good as gold. There’s a child involved, he’s only three, obviously, I love him to death.
“But until that paperwork’s signed I can’t come out.”
Gemma has spoken on social media about Rami’s son, Tristan, from his previous relationship.
Last month she melted hearts with an adorable Instagram post about being a step-mum.
The reality star has shared her gratitude for being able to care for her stepson, while also being a doting auntie to her two nephews Hayden and Kane.
Gemma gushed over her husband-to-be as they spent Christmas together.
Posting a snap of Rami in his festive PJs while surrounded by designer gifts, she said: “Merry Christmas to the one I LOVE thank you for making my life so complete @rami_hawash_ I love you.”
In a hint to the future, she added: “Looking forward to our life together forever.”
