Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were left shocked by a This Morning viewers story.
Known only as Lorraine, the caller joined the ITV programme’s phone-in with hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
The phone-in, also with Vanessa Feltz, saw viewers asked to get in touch about decisions that “seemed like a good idea at the time” but that they regretted later for whatever reason.
It followed an interview with Claire Vickers, 46, and her friend Barry Douglas, 44, who suffered shocking injuries after breaking into a water park at 2am.
And viewer Lorraine also had a story that stunned Holly and Phil.
Around three years ago, she attended a party at a local farm.
She recalled how “after a few glasses of wine” she decided to have a go on the Bucking Bronco hired for the event.
“I was rocking it for 40 seconds,” Lorraine said on This Morning on Tuesday. “All the other girls were asking how I was doing it as they got thrown off after 15-20 seconds.
“Basically, I ended up having a cardiac arrest on there.”
The hosts and Vanessa were left open-mouthed at Lorraine’s story.
She went on: “I fell off it, stood up, collapsed – thank goodness there were two nurses there who literally saved my life”.
Not believing what he was hearing, Phil repeated: “You had a cardiac arrest on a Bucking Bronco??”
Holly asked about the nurses who she said were “lucky” to be there.
Lorraine said: “They pulled me off it, did CPR – I broke a number of ribs. My partner thought I’d passed out drunk but I’d literally died.”
“Oh my god,” Phillip exclaimed.
“They saved my life,” added. “I have no brain damage, nothing, I’m here to tell the story – thank goodness.”
“Oh my god, and you’re fine now?” Holly asked to which Lorraine said she was “absolutely fine.”
