It hasn’t been the easiest of times for the Webster family and next week mechanic Kevin snaps after feeling the pressure. His wife Abi has been in a baby fostering facility being assessed with her son Alfie as her only chance of keeping the baby after the death of his father Imran.
Next week on Coronation Street, Chloe the social worker visits Kevin to question him about Abi and Alfie. His son Jack is sullen as Kevin tries to impress her.
But then Kevin is tested when Stephen Reid picks up his car after new mechanic Aaron Sandford works on it and shouts the odds as it breaks down. As Kevin sets about fixing Stephen’s car, first Jack, then Abi, call his mobile and Stephen threatens to take his business elsewhere.
Kevin loses his temper and, picking up a wrench, he starts smashing up Stephen’s car. A jubilant Abi calls at number 13 and, flinging her arms round Kevin, tells him how much she’s looking forward to moving back home tomorrow, while her husband masks his anxiety.
As Kevin prepares for Abi’s homecoming he is shocked to come face to face with two police officers at the door. But can he keep what happened from Abi?
