ITV Corrie star Kimberly-Hart Simpson looks gorgeous at star-studded wedding in £3 charity shop dress

Coronation Street favourite Kimberly Hart-Simpson turned heads in a ruffled colourful patterned dress as she attended her best friends’ wedding in Spain. The soap’s Nicky Wheatley actress was a stunning senorita as she watched former Hollyoaks stars Daisy Wood-Davis and Luke Jerdy tie the knot.

Kimberly, 35, looked sensational in her flowing lacy dress with thigh-split detail as she posed with guests at the star-studded ceremony including her friend Jessica Ellis who played Tegan Lomax in Hollyoaks. And she revealed that her gorgeous gown was a £3 charity shop bargain.

Sharing snaps from the special day on her Instagram she said: “A love story. (Ft best friends and a £3 charity shop dress and a heavenly venue). This weekend will stay with me for life. Daisy & Maj.”

The compliments came flooding in from her Corrie co-stars. Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria Windass, told her: “Gorgeous.” Kel Allen who played the late Laura Neelan in the soap praised: “Blummin’ gorgeous.” And Harriet Bibby, who plays Summer Spellman, also wrote: “Gorgeous.”

Kimberly, who is also a businesswoman and a dab hand as a seamstress, is known for snapping up a good charity shop bargain and reworking and upcycling her finds. She has seen her sustainable brand Hart-Work launched in Urban Outfitters.

Kimberly recently had fans panicking that she had left the ITV soap again. She returned to the cobbles as former sex worker Nicky earlier this year after making her debut in 2020.

And last month she posed with her co-star Rob Mallard, who plays Daniel Osbourne, for an on-set snap after Nicky waved goodbye again to Weatherfield. The pair were seen standing in Daniel’s flat at the Trafford-based set after Nicky decided to move out.

Her character announced that she was moving out after expressing her true feelings for Daniel. The friends first met when, struggling over the death of his wife Sinead, Daniel ended up paying Nicky to wear her clothes. After leaving for a better life with her daughter Maisie, Nicky returned to the street to get a job as a teaching assistant at the same school as Daniel.

Their close friendship caused a rift between Daniel and his girlfriend Daisy Midgeley. Then Daniel gave the mother and daughter a place to live after pupil Max Turner leaked photos of her from her past work and she lost her job.

When Nicky told Daniel how she really felt and that they’d be good together he let her down gently and revealed that he still had feelings for Daisy. “It was a bit cramped anyway tbh,” Kimberly shared alongside the goodbye snap of her and Rob posted to her Instagram page.

One fan astridstar44 told her: “I’m gonna miss you hope you go back love Corrie with you in it.” tomjamesclark said: “Aww I’m gutted!! Hope it’s not forever! Adios for now Nicky!” And lucyjayde93 wrote: “Hope this isn’t you leaving again.”

stephanie_chadwick said: “Aww hope you don’t leave Corrie your fab in it xx” andy_downes1987 asked her: “Oh you’ve not left have you?!” And yorkshiredave said: “I hope you’re still staying in Corrie.”

Nicky has proven popular with Corrie fans

But the actress reassured her fans that they will be seeing her back on the famous street. “You will see Nicky again,” she told them in response to the concern that Nicky is gone for good.

Kimberly set up set Hart-Work in 2018 and all the items are handmade by the soap star herself. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News and other press, Kimberly said it was buying the cheapest sewing machine she could find, which she ‘put on an Argos card because I couldn’t afford it outright’ that she credits to saving her mental health.

“I’m from a working-class family that went to charity shops so it’s in my bones. I’ve not changed, I’m not going to change despite whether I’m on a high wage or a low wage. It doesn’t matter. A bargain is a bargain at the end of the day,” she said.

“I got a sewing machine a couple of years ago and that saved my mental health massively because I had this thing where I could turn something that was destined for landfill into something beautiful again and that resonated with me in life and your saving the planet and you’re working on yourself. What’s not to love about that.”

She added: “I’m also sick to death of seeing influencers push a narrative of Louis Vuitton and Gucci and all of these other things which have a direct impact on young people’s mental health, looking up to them thinking that is who they need to be like and that’s not sustainable on so many levels.

“I’m not saying be like me but I’m saying please don’t be like everyone else. There are other routes. There’s nothing wrong with what influencers are doing, good for them if they want to put their achievement on there, I’m all for that but I’m just trying to offer an alternative.”

In May she posed in her black and red embroidered number which bought from the British Heart Foundation for a bargain £3, and she said she felt ‘a million dollars.’ The praise came pouring in as Kimberly shared an ‘inspirational’ Instagram post about snapping up second hand clothing.

“They (society) are going to try their best to make you believe the price of a persons outfit is a direct reflection of their success,” she wrote. “Someone in designer gear is surely doing better than someone in second hand?”

And she added: “Let me tell you I have met a few p****s in Prada and some of the most inspiring, well rounded and driven humans in hand me downs. People with a social media following will post their designer items (good for them and no shade) but forget accountability when it comes to the impression that leaves on their followers who want to be just like them.

“What does that do to someone’s mental health when they feel worlds apart? The point is this, these summer events coming up are going to put strain on peoples image, the price of the product does not amount to the value of the human. Your heart is the asset.”
