The mum-of-three from Bury posted the photo on her Instagram as she marked 20 years since his passing. She wrote: “Daddy’s Girl 20 years without this dream of a man. HF’s day to all the lovely, kind Daddy’s with or without us. Life is so short, remember to love your people a lot.”

They’re always with us in our hearts xxx.” And sheilahurst1 said: “Beautifully said ~ been without my Lovely Dad for 12 years miss him every day ~ Happy Father’s Day to all Dad’s and the ones in the stars xxx”

Charley is doting mum to three boys Buster, 12, Bowie, six, and Ace, two, with her husband Matthew Wolfenden who plays David Metcalfe in Emmerdale. She previously opened up about losing her father when she was just 14, thanking her mum for stepping up to the role of both parents after the devastating loss.

The actress posted a stunning photo from her wedding day, with her mum beaming as she held up her daughter’s train, and wrote alongside it: “Everyone’s Mum means the world to them because you only ever get one Mum.

“I’m the baby of the family and that meant she always treated me like I’m about 5. Even now at 32. When I was 14 we lost my Dad very suddenly, he was so young and so was I.

“From that day, my Mum instantly became 2 parents. She had to take on both roles whilst also grieving the loss of her husband. I’ll never forget how strong she was for us all.” Charley added: “I started working 6 weeks after we lost him and she was there every step of the way, encouraging me to follow my dreams and be the best person I can be.”
