This Morning fans couldn’t help but giggle when Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield suffered a technical blunder which left them begging their crew for help. The pair were back fronting the ITV daytime show today which also happens to be their last show of the week.
And as ever, the latest edition of the show included a gam of Spin To Win which viewers have come to realise can cause chaos in the studio. Like clockwork. the programme suffered a technical blunder which left the co-presenters calling for the crew to help remedy the situation.
Holly, 41, and Phillip, 60, were trying to ring a viewer at home who had entered the daily cash competition which could see the player win up to £3,000 by either Phillip spinning a wheel or Holly picking a ball out of the tombola. All they have to do is get the passphrase right and say that instead of ‘hello’ when they pick up the phone.
But the presenting duo panicked when they realised the This Morning crew had failed to phone anybody. The pair weren’t quite sure what to do while they waited.
The initial dialling sound played, but silence fell on the studio when no ringing could be heard. The camera panned to smiling members of the ITV production team, as well as presenter Vanessa Feltz and This Morning’s fashion guru Gok Wan.
“What’s happening?” Phillip asked before Holly queried: “Is the phone even ringing?” Her co-star then cried out: “Have we rung anyone? Have we?”
A worried Phil went on to shout: Have we found anyone?” before Holly cried: “The phone’s not even ringing! It didn’t even ring!” He then let out an exasperated sigh as Holly told their team: “Guys, we’ve got to tie all the bits together. We’ve got to do the ringing and the bit.”
Eventually, they got it sorted but in the meantime, viewers watching This Morning at home had taken to social media to comment. One said: “Yesss it’s all going wrong. LOVE IT.” Another commented: “
But fans also thought that Holly and Phillip may have read what they have been saying about them online as before the chaos ensued, they joked they could just dance around on set as they waited to hear from their viewers – and revealed they’d had some “dirty” suggestions sent in which they wouldn’t dare touch.
Phillip did, however, say: “I like doing the dancing,” as he wiggled his hips to the dialling tone. Holly asked: “Do you?” to which he said: “I don’t put as much effort in as you do.”
“They’ve finally read the comments on here about their terrible dancing,” @ResidentJobber tweeted. @Miss_Carmx said: “Haha they must of read this hashtag regarding the ‘dancing.'” @HEGATTY68 commented: “They’ve been reading the tweets then #ThisMorning,” alongside a series of dancing emojis.
@SpannaD added: “Only took nearly 3 years #ThisMorning,” along with a string of crying laughing emojis. But fan page @hollywillslove shared: “Don’t stop the dancing! #ThisMorning.”
