Josie Gibson shares real reaction to presenting This Morning as she steps back in with Phillip Schofield

Josie Gibson has shared her emotional reaction to hosting This Morning for the very first time.

The Big Brother winner is a familiar face on the ITV show, regularly heading out to host competitions, live games, and other segments.

But Josie got her big break on Tuesday when she was drafted in as the main host an hour before the daytime programme went live.

She hosted the show alongside Phillip Schofield after Holly Willoughby had to call in with a sickness bug.

And with Holly still not well enough to return, Josie was back on Wednesday.

“Welcome to your Wednesday this morning and look who’s back,” Phillip said as he opened the latest This Morning.

Josie replied: “Oh thank you very much for having me back,” as Phillip insisted: “No, there was a massive response, people loved you…”

She added: “Do you know what? Social media can be quite a dark place at times. But yesterday I was showered with love.”

Admitting to what happened after the show, Josie said: “”I had a good cry, I did have a cry for about half an hour after the show.”

To which Phillip then joked: “Well I often do that after the show…” before asking: “Of what, relief?”

Josie replied: “It was just so emotional. It was a really big thing to be sat here with you yesterday and to have all those lovely messages. It was just so lovely.

Phillip also gave an update on poorly Holly, explaining he had been in touch with her all afternoon on Tuesday and that her bug is “a two day thing,” adding she will hopefully be back for their last show of the week tomorrow (Thursday).

Holly had earlier ruled herself out of the show when sending a message to Josie.

But the new co-host has been a hit with viewers, with many demanding she gets a permanent role on the sofa.
