Kym Marsh “ecstatic” as she announces lovely family news

TV star Kym Marsh says she is “ecstatic” as she revealed some lovely family news with her friends and followers on social media.

The former Coronation Street star, who recently married husband Scott Ratcliff, was full of emotion as she took to Instagram to reveal the happy news on Sunday.

Kym, who has been taking some time out from presenting duties on BBC show Morning Live, shared a gorgeous photo of her eldest son David Cunliffe and his partner Courtney Leach as the couple revealed their engagement.

Kym shared in her post: “So…. last night…. this happened!!!

“My wonderful son asked his beautiful girlfriend to marry him…. and she said YES!!!!

“I cannot begin to put into words how ecstatic I am!! To be in their company as a couple is to truly be in the presence of love!”

Kym said it was “magical and happy times for our family right now” as she went on to share her feelings about her son getting engaged, that many other parents may well relate to.

Kym is also mum to daughters Emilie and Polly and a doting ‘Loli’ to grandson Teddy.

She said: “Anyone that knows us know how protective I am of my children and I ALWAYS thought I would not like any of David’s girlfriends hahah! How wrong I was.

“This girl is an absolute diamond, she’s kind and compassionate, beautiful inside and out and loves my son with everything she has! I couldn’t have wished for anyone better for him and I am super excited to be gaining a daughter!”

She continued: “Equally Courtney is getting one hell of a guy. I am so proud of the man that he is, he is a beautiful human and deserves the very best.”

David popped the question on Courtney’s 24th birthday, as the happy couple shaerd a special break and meal out in London together at one of Kym’s favourite restaurants Mala.

The lovely news come just a month after Kym herself tied the knot with her army major love Scott at the Royal Memorial Chapel at Sandhurst on October 16.

Kym, 45, and Scott, 33, married in the intimate ceremony four months after getting engaged on Kym’s birthday.

The wedding was a day of high emotion for Kym, with her dad Dave, who has been diagnosed with incurable prostate cancer, walking her down the aisle before the couple said ‘I do’ in front of family and friends in the stunning military ceremony.

Kym and Scott began dating back in 2018 after being introduced by their mutual friend Antony Cotton, who plays Sean Tully in Corrie.

So due to to Antony’s special role in their relationship, he got an important role on the day too as Master of Ceremonies

And Kym’s former on-screen family member Alison King, known to soap fans as Carla Connor, was also part of the bridal party.
