Lorraine Kelly apologies to The Wanted over mortifying malfunction live on air

Lorraine Kelly was left rather red-faced when she suffered a wardrobe malfunction while interviewing The Wanted.

The boy band joined the host of her self-titled ITV show on Friday.

Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes were discussing the release of their new single, Rule The World, after making a pop comeback.

The Wanted, who shot to fame in 2010 with their first single All Time Low, have reunited after a seven-year hiatus.

The band have already performed a special charity concert for Stand Up To Cancer in September 2021, organised by Tom who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2020.

They were also chatting to Lorraine, 61, about the release of their new album today, Most Wanted – The Greatest Hits, and their huge 2022 arena tour.

But as the interview was starting to come to an end, Lorraine had to quickly apologise to the band.

“Listen, I’m so sorry,” she said as the camera panned to her. “My top button popped with excitement,” Lorraine added as she fiddled with the button of her flowing pink and black dress.

The host apologised to the band

The band burst into laughter in the studio as Jay remarked: “I noticed. It’s directly in my field of vision too.”

A mortified Lorraine added: “I’m so sorry about that. You young boys don’t need that on a morning.”

Tom joked: “We do! It’s fantastic.”

The Wanted saw the funny side

Lorraine then became flustered as she tried to end their chat: “Thank you both,” she said before correcting herself: “Thank you all, what am I saying?”

They all burst out laughing as Lorraine tried to move on to the show’s next segment.

Speaking to fashion expert Mark Hayes, Lorraine said: “I’m going to get this pinned up to make sure nothing else happens.”

Lorraine couldn’t keep it together

And viewers couldn’t help but laugh.

“@thewanted what an interview! you boys are crazy #Lorraine,” one tweeted.

Another said: “@reallorraine love you that brightened up my morning #TheWanted great lads both of them classic #Lorraine love the show #boobs on #TV literally.”

“How brilliant, #Lorraine totally losing it interviewing #TheWanted, that was very rare & very very funny!” a third added.
