Phillip Schofield issues warning moments into This Morning as Josie Gibson returns to cuddle cows

Phillip Schofield was quick to issue a warning to viewers just minutes into This Morning starting. The presenter was back on the ITV daytime show alongside Holly Willoughby on Thursday (April 28) for their last show of the week.

After Holly, who was bringing a pop of colour to the studio in a pink shirt-style dress, welcomed fans to today’s show, Phillip, 60, was on hand to let them know what was to come in the next few hours.

And the show also marked the return of fan favourite Josie Gibson. “Usually when we send Josie out and about, we’re making her zip line off a building, or take on the world’s scariest rollercoasters,” Phillip started by saying. “But today, we thought she deserved a bit of R&R…”

His co-host then took over to explain; “Yes, Josie’s becoming at one with nature this morning to try out the latest wellness trend… it is cow cuddling.”

“Hi Josie, how are you getting on there,” Holly said expecting to see Josie live from the farm in Rutland when instead they were greeting by cows in their stable. “Where is Josie,” the presenter asked and just before Josie appeared, Phil added: “Oh god, where is she?”

“Morning Holly, Morning Phil,” Josie was heard saying as she appeared on-screen. “As you can see behind me there’s some big, beautiful cows and I’m here to check out the latest craze which is cow cuddling and for therapeutic reasons, I’m going to be getting down and personal with these massive cows a little bit later on.”

She then added: “So join me to find out how you cow cuddle,” as Holly commented back in the studio: “They do look very calm,” but Phillip was quick to jump in.

The TV star said; “We have got to stress all the way through the show today… these are special cows,” as a smiling Holly interjected; “Special cuddling cows!”

Phillip made sure to warn viewers

He co-host went on to warn: “Do not, under any circumstances, should you be going out in the country today and attempt to cuddle a friesian.” Holly commented; “They don’t like that,” as Phil added: “You’ll get trampled to death so don’t do it. These are special cows.”

And the segment has come as a surprise to viewers as @SenorApple2014 tweeted: “Cow cuddling… I’ve seen it all now. #ThisMorning.”

Meanwhile, @chibba_chris may have missed Phil’s advice and jokingly said: “Well a cuddle with my dog helps me get over my stress so why now a cow!! I’m off to the local field!!! #ThisMorning @Josiestweet #stressrelief.”
