The ladies showcased autumnal style in smart coats on the red carpet at The Rex Cinema in Wilmslow.

Former Corrie star Denise Welch, who played Rovers Return landlady Natalie Barnes in the show, and Victoria Ekanoye, who played Angie Appleton, also showed their support.

All proceeds from the event went to Prevent Breast Cancer, a cause particularly close to Victoria’s heart as she recently revealed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Victoria, who gave birth to her first child Théodore with partner Jonny Lomas in January.

She told OK! Magazine. “Theo is so young and the thought of not being here for him isn’t something we even really want to entertain.

“I was diagnosed on the thirteenth of October with DCIS, which is Ductal carcinoma in situ. It basically means that the cells have turned cancerous within the milk ducts.”

Victoria, who has sickle cell disease, found a lump in her left breast in July while breastfeeding Théo.

Her mum had breast cancer at 41 and her mum’s sister at 39.

She said about her diagnosis: “We’re being really optimistic, and positive, and really lucky that we’ve caught it as early as we have. I don’t know if lucky is the right word, but that’s how I feel.”

Victoria, who also starred as Rachel in hit US drama The Royals, is now set to undergo a double mastectomy.

She will also have reconstructive surgery at the same time.

Sally, 58, who has played Corrie icon Sally in the soap since 1986, is an ambassador for the charity.

She was filming heartbreaking scenes about her much-loved character reeling from the news that she had breast cancer in 2009 when she was prompted to get checked herself after finding a small lump in her breast which felt like a grain of rice.

She decided to go to a nurse who worked at ITV and within 24 hours she found out she had breast cancer.

Sally, from Middleton, underwent treatment at The Christie and after a six-month break she returned to the ITV soap.

The Colour Room, starring Phoebe in her feature film debut, is based on the life of 1920s and 30s ceramic artist and feminist icon Clarice Cliff.
