Strictly fans already have issue with Musicals Week as some dances are revealed

The latest Strictly Come Dancing-filled weekend may only just be over – but attention has already turned to the next.

On Sunday night fans of the BBC One show watched as the latest couple to be eliminated was revealed.

Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies and her professional partner Aljaz Skorjanec faced social media star Tilly Ramsay and her partner Nikita Kuzmin in the dance-off following the public vote.

It is the second week in a row Tilly and Nikita found themselves having to perform again.

But following their repeat performances, the judges unanimously opted to save them, leaving Sara and Aljaz to say their goodbyes.

When asked about her experience on the show, Sara said: “I had no idea any of this was in me. It’s been a life-changing experience and one I’ve loved every second of.”

Aljaz also became emotional as he praised his dancing partner and said he would not have wanted to dance with anyone else.

However, his speech also left fans fearing the worst.

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman were back this weekend

As the other couples made it through, next week’s final theme of the series was revealed.

Those watching the BBC One dance contest this upcoming weekend will be transported to the theatre for Musicals Week.

While the official song and dance choices aren’t usually revealed until later in the week, two couples have already teased what they’ll be doing.

Giovanni Pernice announced that he and Rose Ayling Ellis will be performing a Quickstep to Love is an Open Door from the Disney hit Frozen.

While Rhys Stephenson will perform a Jive and AJ Odudu will be doing a waltz to Edelweiss from The Sound of Music.

But viewers have already got issues with the choices.

“No. Frozen is not a musical but I’ll love it anyway,” one said in response to Rose and Giovanni’s upcoming routine.

Another tweeted: “Love how everyone is annoyed by Dan staying in but here I am annoyed that Frozen is being classed as a musical. Yes I know its a stage show now but NOOOOOOO #Strictly.”

“Ah that Broadway classic for the ages, Frozen… #Strictly,” a third added.

The bulk of the complaints, however, were aimed at Rhys and his partner Nancy Xu’s choice.

Viewers weren’t as happy to hear Rhys and Nancy’s next dance choice

“When is Rhys going to get a slow dance? Next week the jive – ideally suited to his duracell bunny personality. Has he actually done a waltz yet? #Strictly,” one asked.

Another fumed: “Rhys is doing a JIVE next week?! Another fast dance! What a joke. #Strictly.”

“WHEN WILL RHYS HAS A SLOW DANCE? jive next week ffs. Waltz? Rumba? #Strictly,” a third added.

A fourth pointed out: “Judges to Rhys: Rein your energy in Strictly producers: *gives him a charleston this week and jive next* #Strictly.”
