Strictly Come Dancing star Gorka Marquez has given a touching tribute to partner Katie McGlynn after they were voted off the show.
The dancer and Hollyoaks actress became the second couple to leave the BBC One dance competition on Sunday night.
They faced their second week in the dance-off after performing an American smooth to Cruella De Vil from the latest 101 Dalmatians film Cruella.
Katie and Gorka were up against comedian Judi Love and Graziano Di Prima who performed an American smooth to When You’re Good To Mama from movie-musical Chicago during Movie Week.
But with only Anton Du Beke opting to save them, it was Katie and Gorka’s time to leave – which left Strictly viewers fuming.
After the results aired on BBC One, Gorka took to Instagram with a message for his new pal.
“THANK YOU!!! @katiexmcglynn thank you for the past 4 weeks,” he began. “From day 1 I knew we were gonna get on and have fun!
“You came to this Show without any dance experience but you were willing to give your best to learn and improve everyday.
“You didn’t have the easiest ride but always came with a smile and giving 100% to everything I asked you to do in the rehearsals room, you always trusted me and believed in my work and for that, I thank you.
“Thanks for all the laughs and funny memories we shared over the last few weeks. If there was something we did all the time it was that…laughing.”
He also revealed why he cannot end his friendship with Katie.
“Today is the end of our Dance journey but not our friendship one (sorry you wont be able to get rid of me and Mia is still asking for you!)” he said of daughter Mia, who he shares with Gemma Atkinson.
Gorka ended the message: “THANK YOU ONE MORE TIME. I am so PROUD of you,” alongside pictures of them dressed as Cruella and a Dalmatian.
As his Strictly co-stars flooded the message with love, Katie commented: “T hank you for everything Gorks! I wouldn’t have it any other way it’s been an absolute blast.”
Gemma also sent a supportive message to former Corrie star Katie after her shock exit and explained why she’s in awe of her.
“You should be so proud of yourself! Doing those dances with practically no rehearsal time at all is incredible!” she told her.
“I struggled with eight hours a day never mind three hours. You did ace!”
Gemma, 36, added: “The best team. You did yourself and Gorks proud.”
Katie herself also hit back at rumours the pair didn’t get on in her living message.
My time @bbcstrictly has been utterly magical. I’ve loved every second of rehearsals with @gorka_marquez and performing each week,” she said on Instagram.
“I’m really gutted that my time on the show has come to an end so soon, I feel like I had so much more to give and really wanted to carry on pushing myself and learning from the professionals that I am absolutely in awe of.”
She later added: “And despite what you may have read, I couldn’t have asked for a better partner and I’ve had such a brilliant time with Gorks… I’ve made friends for life working on this show.”
The actress, 28, then teased: “Now if anyone needs me, you can find me @hollyoaksoffical …we’ve got something big on it’s way,” with a wink face emoji.
