This Morning have made a major change to the show today.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are completing a show first – by hosting the show in a forest.
Earlier this month the hosts revealed that the ITV programme bought a forest as part of a drive to “go green” and stop the woodland from ever being built on.
It is then they confirmed that they’d be heading up to the forest to host the show at some point this month.
“We’ll have to get Maid Marian and Robin Hood outfits,” Holly joked at the time.
She then said: “I’d love that. Hug a few trees, I won’t let go,” to which Phil replied: “Absolutely, yes. I’m definitely up for that [going in a tree], it’s the Robin Hood outfit I’m slightly less keen on, but there you go.”
And that day has finally arrived.
Before the show aired, Holly shared an image to Instagram of her script which had ‘This Morning in the Forest’ written at the top with leaf detail.
“Nature incoming… @thismorning,” she shared alongside the snap which showed her ready for their adventure.
She then went on to show her outfit of the day – which is very different to the usual glam ensembles viewers are used to seeing the host in.
“See you on @thismorning from the forest at 10am…” Holly, 40, said as she posed in the middle of trees wearing jeans, chunky boots and a baseball cap.
And fans have been reacting to the change.
“looks like a new version of i’m a celeb #thismorning,” tweeted one.
Another said: “Forgot @thismorning was from there forest today thought it was @imacelebrity.”
“Interesting to see This Morning “In The Forest”. Got a good chance of things going wrong today #ThisMorning,” a third added.
When announcing the news at the start of the month, Holly and Phil confirmed that it is the show’s “biggest-ever project.”
“Covid has made us all appreciate the natural world around us and we thought we’d like to continue that new-found appreciation by doing our little bit to help the planet,” Phillip said.
“Which is why we’ve bought a forest!” Holly added.
Phil then clarified: “Well, the show has bought a forest.”
TV presenter Julia Bradbury had already visited the location – as well as other stunning nature spots around the country for her This Morning series.
