This Morning’s Alison and Dermot step in as Dragons’ Den star told to ‘wash mouth out’ for swearing

Alison Hammond had a jokingly stern word for Deborah Meaden at the end of her This Morning interview.

The Dragons’ Den star was chatting to Alison and Dermot O’Leary ahead of the return of the BBC One show this week.

Deborah appeared via video link on the ITV programme from her home in Somerset to discuss the brand new series which will feature a new Dragon.

And the interview quickly got off to an awkward start.

“Where are you, Deborah?” Alison asked. “Are you in a factory?”

But before the businesswoman was able to reply, the host jumped back in: “Oh that’s your house isn’t it? Sorry.”

“It’s the colour,” she said trying to justify her comment.

“It’s actually my office and the dogs have just started barking,” Deborah clarified with a laugh.

The interview continued on and it was soon the hosts having to apologise on Deborah’s behalf.

The TV personality was explaining what she looks for when people pitch their ideas on Dragons’ Den – or more importantly if she has ever turned somebody down because she ‘didn’t like them’.

She said she doesn’t want to work in a business where she is ‘constantly looking over her shoulder’ and that she’s got to be able to ‘trust people’.

“I don’t know if I can say b******t but I’m going to, I don’t like b******t,” Deborah said.

“Apologies, apologies, apologies for that word,” Alison quickly stepped in with Debroah adding: “I shouldn’t have said that, sorry.”

Then at the end of the interview, Alison joked: “Now you go off and wash your mouth out, Deborah,” with their guest looking slightly mortified with her hands to her face.

Dermot added: “Swear until your heart’s content.”

Deborah was left red-faced

But This Morning viewers saw the funny side.

@MeganSuthers tweeted: “@DeborahMeaden should definitely be allowed to say b******t on this morning @thismorning #ThisMorning.”

“[crying laughing emojis] Deborah Meaden cursing twice on #ThisMorning,” @lpcjc said.

@liamlcfc8 joked: “They deserve that after Alison said are you in a factory #ThisMorning.”

“@DeborahMeaden dropping some BS on #ThisMorning has been my morning highlight,” @Jamie_Thompson_ declared.
