Jimmy Kimmel reacts to Pete Hegseth spending $93 billion in 1 month
Jimmy Kimmel has responded to a report that claims Pete Hegseth's defense department spent $93 billion in one month last year.

Pete Hegseth's defense department hasn't been shy about its spending, according to a new report that claims the department blew through $93 billion in September 2025 alone — and Jimmy Kimmel is unimpressed.
"Just in September, he spent $2 million of taxpayer money on Alaskan king crab, he spent $6.9 million on lobster tail, $140,000 on donuts, $124,000 on ice cream machines, $26,000 on sushi preparation tables, and $15.1 million on ribeye steak," says Kimmel. "How are they eating so much food? Can you imagine the size of the egg Sean Hannity would lay if a Democrat had spent millions of dollars on lobster tails and sushi preparation tables? He would never walk again."
Among the other items Kimmel calls out are the fruit basket stands, which reportedly made a notable dent all by themselves.
"They racked up quite a bill, $12,000 on fruit basket stands," says Kimmel. "Which is so funny, you know he's been going round saying, 'We're making the military manly again! We're war fighters! Now where is the stand for my basket of fruit?'"
Elsewhere, Stephen Colbert also had some things to say about Hegseth's spending habits.
