Facebook and Instagram users reported issues with accessing the platforms, according to the third-party outage-tracking website DownDetector.com.

Meta's communication director, Andy Stone, said in a post on X, "We're aware people are currently having trouble accessing our services. We're working on it."

Meta's systems dashboard page also showed "high disruptions" for its Facebook Ads Manager, Messenger API, Messenger platform, and WhatsApp Business Platform on Friday.

Meta did not immediately respond to Business Insider for further comment on the matter.
