Two people were shot at a Delaware hospital Tuesday, prompting a large police response and a search for a suspect, according to authorities.
The shooting occurred at Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington, police said.
The conditions of the two victims were not immediately known.
"At this time, police have located two gunshot victims," the Wilmington Police Department said in a statement. "The hospital remains locked down and police continue to ask the public to avoid the area."

Police have identified a suspect, officials said, though additional details were not immediately released.
Scanner traffic reviewed by Fox News Digital indicated police were attempting to locate a vehicle with Delaware registration that may be connected to the shooting.
Authorities have not publicly identified a vehicle of interest.
ChristianaCare, which operates Wilmington Hospital, confirmed the shooting and said the campus was placed on lockdown following the incident.

"The campus is currently on lockdown, and the emergency department is on divert. We are working closely with law enforcement and taking all appropriate steps to ensure the safety of our patients, caregivers and visitors. This is an active police investigation for a possible active shooter," the hospital said in a statement.
Aerial footage from the scene showed a heavy police presence surrounding the hospital campus as officers responded to the incident.
Multiple law enforcement vehicles could be seen outside the facility and people were seen exiting the building with their hands raised.
Authorities have not released information about what led to the shooting, where on the hospital campus it occurred or a possible motive.
The Wilmington Police Department said the investigation remains active.
Officials cautioned that details released so far are preliminary and could change as investigators gather more information.
