There are a ton of flashy tech products on sale for Prime Day, but it's also a great time to buy the little things, saving yourself a little money on things that don't turn anyone's head, but that you need to keep your flashier devices running smoothly.

I bought an Anker Prime Charger a few months ago, and my charging is so much better now. Samsung's T9 Portable SSD is nearly 40% off

If you are constantly running out of room for photos, large video projects, or game backups, the Samsung T9 Portable SSD (1TB) is a massive upgrade that is currently down to $179.99 from its normal $287.99 price tag. It's a great time to save money on cables and connectors

I don't know which kind of cables you need more of, but I know there's some kind of cable you need more of. For me, it's these XLR microphone cables, two for $12.48 (that's 15% off the usual price). If you don't those, it's also a great time to stock up on USB-C cables to charge all of your devices at discounts of up to 40%.

Batteries are on sale, too

One Prime Day basic I find myself buying every year: batteries. You always need more. A pack of 32 Energizer AAA batteries is $14.99, 25% off the usual price, but you can find discounts on a bunch of other sizes, too.

Looking for something else? Retailers like Walmart and Best Buy run Prime Day-style sales that are especially useful if you don’t have Amazon Prime.
