Prime Day 2026 is here — and so are the price hikes that Apple teased last week. As of June 25, select Apple products are at least $100 more expensive than before. That includes the full MacBook lineup: the MacBook Air, the MacBook Pro, and even the budget MacBook Neo. Bummer.
Now for some good news. While Apple's price changes are now live in the Apple Store, Amazon hasn't adjusted its own listings to match them just yet. In other words, the best Prime Day MacBook deals we've seen so far this week are still up for grabs, and looking even better than before.
Take the MacBook Neo. The base model is marked down to $589.99 this Prime Day. Originally, that was only a $9.01 discount on its $599 MSRP. But as of today, it's really a $109.01 savings given the Apple Store's new starting price of $699.

I've rounded up the best ones below and will continue to update my list based on current pricing and availability. (I'm marking any record-lows I encounter with a 🔥.)
I'd also encourage you to check out competing retailers' anti-Prime Day sales — namely, Best Buy's Tech Fest. It's matching a lot Prime Day MacBook offers, so if they sell out on Amazon, you've got a fallback plan.

Apple's colorful new budget laptop is faster than most Windows laptops in basic single-core workloads, and it has the same premium build quality as Apple's other MacBooks. Amazon has been selling the base configuration for $589.99 (normally $599) for a few weeks now. That hasn't been a great deal until today, when the Apple Store bumped its price by $100. Once Amazon matches Apple's MSRP, it will only be available at $599 for college students, their parents, and teachers on a regular basis, so this is a real last-chance steal. Take your pick from four colors: silver, blush, indigo, and citrus.

The new M5 MacBook Air is a class-leading ultraportable with a zippy processor, two full workdays' worth of battery life, and a premium, polished design. (Haptic touchpad? Check. Crisp Liquid Retina display? Check. Speakers that sound better than anything you'll find on the average Windows laptop? Checkity-check.) The 13-inch base configuration is on sale for $949 this Prime Day, which is $150 off its $1,099 sticker price. It will soon cost $1,299, or $350 more, once Apple's price hikes are reflected on Amazon.
Best Buy was matching this deal at the time of writing. Both retailers have all four colors in stock: starlight, silver, midnight, and sky blue.

The M5 MacBook Pro is a creative-forward upgrade with a gorgeous 120Hz Liquid Retina XDR (mini-LED) display, a longer battery life, and extra ports like an SDXC card slot. It also has built-in fans, unlike the MacBook Air, so you're less likely to experience thermal throttling when you run demanding software on it. Amazon has the base model listed for $1,549 this Prime Day — another $150 savings. (Best Buy is also price-matching Amazon here.) It will soon cost $1,999, or a whopping $450 more.

Which MacBook should you buy?
The MacBook Air is my favorite MacBook for most people, including most college students and office workers. The MacBook Neo is my top pick for frugal buyers, casual users, and younger students (grades K through 12). The MacBook Pro is my No. 1 choice for content creators and other creative professionals, especially photo and video editors.
