Chevy Chase called out for being 'not so nice' to Billy Joel's ex-wife at a keg party
Katie Lee Biegel claimed on her podcast that Chevy Chase mistook her for staff and shooed her away at a keg party with her ex-husband Billy Joel.
Billy Joel's ex-wife has called out Chevy Chase for being "not-so-nice" during an old-school keg party.
Katie Lee Biegel addressed the incident on a recent episode of her podcast, "All on the Table." She explained that the incident with Chase happened while she was married to Joel. The former couple tied the knot in 2004 before divorcing in 2009.
"My celebrity run-in that was not so nice was Chevy Chase," Biegel began.
"So, I was having a party with my ex-husband. It was a keg party. I wanted to have like an old-school keg party. We had a house that we were going to tear down. And it was like this little — we called it ‘The Sugar Shack,’ and had a very fun summer there, staying with friends," Biegel said.

She continued, "But then at the end of the summer, we decided to have a kind of like, ‘Tear the House Down' party, a keg party, and I had jello shots, kegs. It was a very star-studded party."
Biegel went on to explain the moment Chase mistook her for a member of the staff and "shooed" her away.
"And my ex-husband was standing talking to Chevy Chase and his wife. And I had a tray of jello shots. And I went up with the tray of jello shots and said, you know, ‘Do you guys want a shot?’ and Chevy thought that I was the staff at the party, and he took his hand and shooed me away," she said.

"He just did this," she said, making a shooing motion with her hand.
Chase has long had a reputation in Hollywood for being difficult to work with, with multiple former co-stars and collaborators alleging abrasive, confrontational and inappropriate behavior over the years.

His most public controversies stem from his time on "Community," where he clashed with creator Dan Harmon and several cast members before leaving the show in 2012 after reportedly using racially insensitive language on set.
