PlayStation is showing off some new games this week from around the world, including the next big 'Final Fantasy' title

There's a metaphorical truckload of video game releases arriving over the next couple of months, including Grand Theft Auto VI, but PlayStation still has some more announcements in store this week.

Sony’s gaming arm announced a pair of State of Play streams that will air back-to-back on Thursday, Sept. 3, beginning at 9 a.m. ET. PlayStation didn’t specify how long the streams will run, but we at least have some idea of what to expect.

The first will feature "updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and our third-party partners" and conclude with an extended look at Final Fantasy VII: Revelation, which is set to launch in spring 2027.

The second stream will focus entirely on games from Japan and Asia, though most — if not all — will probably be released in the West as well. Altogether, we could be looking at at least an hour of new game announcements and trailers on Thursday morning.

There are worse ways to start a day.
