Brewery behind Trump, McConnell death promotions now unveils 'Antifa Octoberfist' beer
Minocqua Brewing Company released its "Antifa Octoberfist" beer after Abdul El-Sayed won Michigan's Democratic primary for a Senate nomination.
The Wisconsin brewery that previously drew national attention for promising free beer "the day" President Donald Trump dies and later announcing plans for a "half-price beer day" when Sen. Mitch McConnell dies is again courting controversy with the release of a politically themed beer called "Antifa Octoberfist."
In a Wednesday social media post, Minocqua Brewing Company said it chose to announce the seasonal beer after "another card-carrying member of ANTIFA" won a Democratic primary in Michigan.
The brewery said the beer's label revisits the question, "Is it OK to punch a Nazi?" and references Captain America and World War II while promoting the product.

"Now that another card-carrying member of ANTIFA has won the Democratic Primary in Michigan, we thought today would be a good day to announce that our seasonal Octoberfest is BACK--and it's call ‘Antifa Octoberfist!’" the post read.
On Tuesday, Abdul El-Sayed defeated Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Mich., winning the Democratic nomination for Senate.
The brewery then shared the message printed on the back of the cans about punching Nazis.
"During World War II, America rose up against Nazi Germany and rejected the idea of fascism, which is defined as government lead by a strong man that fetishizes power, uses violence to quash opposition, demands absolute loyalty, and gains power by seducing those who perceive themselves as victims," the message reads.
"Over the last 70 years, we’ve honored our American forefathers who vanquished fascism in Germany," it continued. "Those heroes were antifascists, or for short, ‘antifa.’ Unfortunately, fascism has once again reared its ugly head — not in Germany, but here at home, within America’s borders. That’s why we made Antifa OktoberFIST: a German-style Festbier that is uniquely American."
"Of course it’s not OK to punch anyone, but it’s patriotic as hell to raise your fist against fascism, reject its four tenets, and embrace the true American ideals of democracy, freedom, justice, and equality of opportunity."
The brewery previously sparked outrage by promising free beer on "the day" Trump dies in January, and again following the April shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. On Monday, it announced plans for a "half-price beer day" for when McConnell dies.
Minocqua Brewing Company is currently fighting getting their permit revoked.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on July 27 that Wisconsin's Department of Revenue sent a notice to liberal activist and brewery owner Kirk Bangstad announcing plans to revoke the brewery’s permit.

The Sentinel reported that state regulators pursued revoking Bangstad's alcohol license after authorities seized canned beer from his company in June, alleging it had been transported from Illinois without the required permits and taxes. The paper also reported that Bangstad criticized the proposed action as an excessive response, arguing the alleged tax violations did not warrant shutting down his business.
The revocation of the beer permit was set to go into effect on Tuesday, but a spokesperson for Wisconsin's Department of Revenue told Fox News Digital in a statement Monday that "Minocqua Brewing Company has filed an administrative appeal, and, therefore, the permit will not be revoked, pending the outcome of the administrative appeal."
Fox News Digital reached out to Minocqua Brewing Company and El-Sayed for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
