Livvy Dunne proved she can still execute elite gymnastics skills in a beach bikini video despite retiring to focus on acting and MLB WAG life.
Once a gymnast, always a gymnast is the sort of saying you can hear a gym mom regurgitating at any weekend meet as if it has some deep meaning. When it comes to retired gymnast Livvy Dunne, it's true.
She may have called it quits last year, but she can still dust off her gymnastic skills when she wants. The focus on bikini modeling, becoming an actress, and her work as an MLB All-Star WAG hasn't built up too much rust.
I'm sure there are flaws in Livvy's technique that a trained eye might catch, but I don't see them. I don't see a washed-up gymnast sadly putting her hamstrings at risk in the sand for TikTok either.

What I see is someone who can still reach back to their years of training. Someone who can still put it on autopilot, then execute while relying on that training.
That goes for the ability to turn the performance into a piece of content as much as it does for the gymnastics itself. That's talent that's been developed over time. This is from years of falling down and getting back up.
There will come a day when Livvy Dunne heads out to the beach in a bikini, hands over her phone or whatever is used to record video then and can't pull it off anymore. That day has not arrived yet.
What we're currently witnessing is someone who has applied what she learned from gymnastics to other avenues and who has found a ton of success doing so.
The former gymnast who cashed in big on social media and has turned herself into what one might describe as a generational talent. She's a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit veteran who is in her third season in the big leagues.
All that and she branched out into acting. That makes her getting back to her roots a few days ago on the beach that much more impressive. That's the type of story of hard work paying off that we can all root for.
