This under-appreciated sci-fi thriller from director Neill Blomkamp ("District 9") is set in 2154. The super-elite now live on a cushy space station called Elysium, while the destitute are on a rotting Earth. Matt Damon plays a man who is determined to get up to Elysium and disrupt the hierarchy.

"Field of Dreams" (August 1)

In one of the best sports movies ever made, Kevin Costner plays Ray, a Iowa farmer who, after hearing voices, decides to destroy his crop and build a baseball field. Eventually, dead ball players from the past populate the field, including one from Ray's past.

Writer-director Dan Gilroy's directorial debut is a thrilling neo-noir set in the cutthroat world of stringer journalism. Jake Gyllenhaal plays a slimy conman who finds his niche when he begins racing around Los Angeles at night filming accidents and murders and selling his footage to local news channels.

"Something's Gotta Give" (August 1)

Before directing duo the Daniels made "Everything Everywhere All at Once," they made this inventive buddy comedy that follows a man (Paul Dano) stranded on an island who befriends a corpse (Daniel Radcliffe). The two form a bond that leads to self-discovery.

"The Whisper Man" (August 28)

This Netflix original is a thriller based on the best-selling book by Alex North. Adam Scott plays Tom, whose son is abducted. All evidence leads to it being the work of a serial killer known as The Whisper Man. Tom turns to his estranged father (Robert De Niro), a retired detective who worked The Whisper Man case, for help. Michelle Monaghan and Michael Keaton also star.
