Twitch Is Down
If you can't log in right now, you're not alone.
Update: As of 5 p.m. EDT, the problem seems to have largely been resolved, as reports on Downdetector have dropped from a high of around 10,000 to under 500. Twitch still has not commented on the issue beyond its initial status message.
If you're having some trouble logging into Twitch for a gaming session right now, it's not just you: According to Downdetector, thousands of users are reporting issues with the online gaming platform.
It looks like the problems began around 2:30 p.m. EDT, when reports of access issues started to trickle in. By around 4 p.m., those numbers spiked to almost 10,000 and remain elevated as of this writing. Twitch has yet to reveal what might be causing the problem or offer a timeframe for a fix, with its status page merely sharing the following:
Service Negatively Impacted: We have received reports of impacted services. This could manifest in chat not working, login difficulties, search impaired, etc. We're looking into the issue.
No additional updates have been shared on the company's social media profiles, including X. According to Twitch, the platform experienced its last major outage two years ago, in August 2024.
