Mariska Hargitays Emmys opening monologue gets interrupted by Nicole Kidman

Mariska Hargitay hosted the 2026 Emmys on Monday, and it's probably fair to say she crushed it.

Following an entertaining opening song, the host took to the stage to joke about everything from arresting most of the audience at one point or another on Law & Order SVU ("You guys have done some unspeakable things," says Hargitay. "I'm talking to you, Martin Short.") to not being able to pronounce the word "finale" ("I'm sorry guys, it's just that I never had one!").

The highlight? Hargitay finishing with a parody of Nicole Kidman's highly memed AMC Theatres ad, that gets interrupted by Kidman herself. "Zip it, movie lady!" grins Hargitay. "It's TV's turn tonight."
