Cyberleek says the GTA 6 leaks are over and warns of dead mans switch

Cyberleek may have just thrown in the towel on all of those 'Grand Theft Auto VI' leaks.

Cyberleek might finally, mercifully, be done sharing Grand Theft Auto VI clips.

On the Cyberleek website, as spotted by Reddit and cited by Kotaku, the person or group of people behind all the recent GTA 6 leaks you may have seen on your social feeds appeared to call it quits. According to the post, the leaker's threat to release a full build of the game will seemingly go unfulfilled, as they did not meet the $30 million market value goal for their memecoin. However, the post did imply that there is a "dead man's switch" in place that will release the build, or some other kind of spoiler content, if anyone tries to "remove" Cyberleek.

"CL has the ending. It was considered. It would punish Take-Two greatly - but ruin the experience for the gamers, who did nothing wrong," the post said. "Take-Two would show CL no mercy - why should CL show any to them? Still: Take-Two was punished enough. The ending stays unpublished. Proof: the latest leek - clips from the final missions, out of context, revealing nothing. The dead man's switch is active - story spoilers only. Left alone, it never fires. Whoever removes CL chooses it."

Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive, the makers of GTA 6, have already subpoenaed Google, Microsoft, X, and Discord in their efforts to unmask and stop Cyberleek.

The leaker's post went on to defend the meme-coin at the center of the leaks, claiming it was not a "rugpull."

“CL was transparent about the token from day one: a donation, never an investment," Cyberleek said. "It changed nothing – influencers decided the story before the facts arrived. The Edict stands. The leeks stop here. For now.”

Over the past few months, the anonymous leaker has posted roughly 20 or so out-of-context clips that mostly showed the game's protagonists driving around and/or beating up NPCs, although the leaker did start sharing some story spoilers. By the end, they were showing both protagonists rendered completely nude, but it's arguable that none of the leaks told us as much about the game as Rockstar's own Netflix trailer did in August.

Regardless, it seems like this Cyberleek saga is over for the time being. It's only about a month until the game launches on Nov. 19, and gamers can preorder the game ahead of its release.
