Jimmy Kimmel has responded to Trump promising Americans $5,000 if Republicans win the House and the Senate.
Donald Trump has promised every adult American $5,000 if the Republicans win both the Senate and the House in the upcoming midterm elections — but Jimmy Kimmel isn't buying it.
"Well, he's never lied to us before," says Kimmel in the clip above, after playing footage of the president's announcement. "Let me be very clear: Donald Trump is more likely to run a 5k than to give it to us."
Kimmel also makes the point that the money Trump is promising belongs to the American people anyway.
"That's our money," Kimmel says. "You're not giving anyone anything. That's you breaking open Eric's piggybank and going 'Hey dummy, here's your allowance.' That's what you're doing."
