New Jaguars long snapper cuts camping trip short, scrambles for passport before Sunday's London game
Jacob Bobenmoyer was camping and changing diapers in Colorado when the Jacksonville Jaguars called him to fly to London as their emergency long snapper.
Last weekend's game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was a wild one, and one thing that was a headache for the Jags was the long-snapping situation.
Long snapper Ross Matiscik hurt his shoulder, and that meant defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton had to take over. The results were mixed, and one snap on an extra point was so high that it led to a bad hold and a rare miss from that range for kicker Cam Little.
But now, while the Jags were staying in London ahead of their game against the Houston Texans at Wembley Stadium, they called in former Broncos and Raiders long snapper Jacob Bobenmoyer.

It's surely a welcome call, but it tanked his camping trip and had him praying his passport was still in the bathroom drawer he had chucked it in.
Bobenmoyer was camping in the wilds of Colorado when he got a text from his agent telling him that the Jags would likely be getting in touch with him. So he headed home on the off chance that they would want him to head to the airport that night, which they did.
So imagine being on a camping trip and having to head home early because you've got to wing it on over to London to handle long-snapping duties for the Jaguars.
Now, imagine getting that call while "changing diapers and whatnot," which is what happened to Bobenmoyer.
What a wild couple of hours.
But there was still the matter of the passport in the bathroom drawer, which Bobenmoyer didn't think he'd need again.

"They called me, and I was like, ‘Man, I hope it’s still there,’" Bobenmoyer said, per the Associated Press.
The 29-year-old out of Northern Colorado has 97 NFL games under his belt, spread over three seasons in Denver and another three in Las Vegas.
Bobenmoyer hit free agency this past offseason, but crucially, didn't give up after not signing going into the season.
"I just train and work out exactly how I would if I was with a team," he said. "It paid off."
It sure did. Another bite at the NFL apple and a free trip to London.
Can't beat it.
