Ahead of Amazon’s October Prime Day 2026 sale, the Eero Max 7 (two-pack) has dropped to $799.99 from $1,149.99, taking $350 off and bringing the mesh system to its lowest price on record, according to price trackers. That is still a serious amount to spend on a router setup, but the Max 7 sits at the top of Eero's lineup and carries an Editors' Choice and an "excellent" rating from PCMag for its combination of raw speed and ease of use. These are tri-band Wi-Fi 7 units with a BE20800 rating and ten antennas apiece—and with each unit covering up to 2,500 square feet and supporting more than 250 connected devices (according to the manufacturer), the two-pack has enough reach for 5,000 square feet under ideal conditions, which should handle most houses. The Max 7’s wired connectivity is also generous for a mesh system, with 10GbE and 2.5GbE ports giving you three LAN connections on the router and four on the node. That means a desktop, a game console, and a NAS can all run wired while the system still has room for a wired backhaul between units, which is the single best thing you can do for mesh performance if you have Ethernet in the walls.
Beyond handling your wifi network, this setup can also double as a smart home hub, with Thread, Matter, and Zigbee support built in so compatible smart bulbs, sensors, and other devices can connect without requiring a separate bridge. That said, there's no USB port, so plugging in a drive to share across the network isn't an option here. More significantly, as PCMag's review points out, parental controls and network security tools sit behind a paid subscription (eero Plus, starting at $9.99 per month), meaning the spending continues after the hardware is paid for. Wi-Fi 7 also only pays off if your devices support it.
