Titans player Jordan Elliott got angry at teammate, went to his car for a gun and ended up unemployed
Jordan Elliott grabbed a firearm from his car after a heated practice altercation with J.C. Latham, leading the Tennessee Titans to cut him.
The Tennessee Titans released defensive tackle Jordan Elliott on Tuesday over an incident last week in which he got into a practice fight with a teammate and it became so heated he was told to leave practice – at which point, a source told OutKick, he went to retrieve a firearm out of his car.
That must have been some practice altercation.
And a major over-reaction to the altercation with a teammate.

Elliott, 28, is no longer with the team and his prospects of immediately landing with another club once he clears waivers seem highly improbable.
The chain of events that led to all this, some of which were first reported by A to Z Sports, started routinely enough.
Elliott, who joined the Titans in the offseason after signing a two-year free agent contract worth $8 million, got into a practice argument with offensive tackle J.C. Latham.
The two players, the source said, grabbed each other and Elliott apparently grabbed Latham's facemask. It is unclear if punches were thrown but none of any effect were landed. After teammates broke up the fight, Elliott was still visibly aggressive so he was told to leave the field by coaches. He angrily took off his pads and tossed them on a sideline before walking away.
But after practice the incident spilled over into the locker room, according to the source.
Elliott was so angry he stormed from the locker room to the players' parking garage. Security cameras captured Elliott going to his car and coming away with what appeared on camera to be a firearm.
It's unknown what Elliott's intention was when he went for his weapon but the incident was de-escalated by teammates, led by offensive lineman John Franklin-Myers.
The Titans did not provide the details of what actually led to their decision to cut Elliott. They released a statement simply announcing Elliott's departure.
"On Thursday, October 15, there was an incident at our team facility involving Jordan Elliott," the Titans statement reads. "Following our review of the incident, we have made the decision to release Elliott from our roster.
"We will have no further comment on the matter."
The team did, however, take immediate action. Elliott was not allowed at practice the day after the incident.
Coach Robert Saleh, who was instrumental in bringing Elliott from the San Francisco 49ers with him to Tennessee, told reporters on Friday that Elliott was "dealing with personal stuff."
Elliott also did not travel with the team to Indianapolis and was inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts. The Titans won their first game of the season in Indianapolis.

The Titans have not filed a police report on this incident but a source said the team did inform the NFL. It's unclear if the NFL will take disciplinary steps against Elliott.
What is clear is that other teams will be aware of this incident and that will almost surely cause at least some of them to remove Elliott from their free agent call list.
