"I don't vote," the rapper told host Sean Hannity. "My opinion means nothing. I'm just Vanilla Ice."
Vanilla Ice rarely speaks publicly about politics and recently defended his decision to perform at the Freedom 250 concert, which critics characterized as political.
He said his participation was rooted in his love for the country, though the concert was ultimately canceled due to weather.

The "Ice Ice Baby" singer said a lesson he learned during a time management course in Hawaii influenced his decision not to exercise his right to vote.
"I don't vote because I went to that course, and they said, 'They don't pay you to go vote. They don't pay you to form an opinion of anybody. They don't pay you to go stand in line or drive over there in the car and the gas. And all that time adds up.'"

"One guy is like, 'I'll just have a piña colada on the beach for that time and have better time than that crap.' And then some people are like… 'I could have spent more time with my family, I could have been horse-jumping with my daughter.'"
The 58-year-old entertainer said the class reminded him that time is precious and that is why he chooses to spend his time doing things he loves rather than voting.
"I could've done so many more things, instead I'm doing that? How did I get lured into that?" he said.
Vanilla Ice said his tendency not to take life too seriously is one of the reasons he stays out of politics.
"Anything I've even said, I don’t take it serious," he said. "This is just food for thought. That's kind of the way I view things."
